Harsh, but not far off the mark
take the old-trailblazer http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/trafficmaster
used to be all done in HTML, and it worked very well. I used it. My dad
used it.
then the agency seemed to have to find ways of extracting more money from
the client (yes/no rob?) so they did a flash version, and pulled the
original.
which doesn't work (200k+ downloads count as Not Working in my book)
I now use http://www.rac.co.uk/html/services/froute.htm (which itself
could be better if it worked a bit more often - it's hardly reassuring to
potential customers that the RAC's site is always broken down...)
Do utility.
Do it very well.
And then test it - scientifically - on real users.
And then make it better.
