Actually, thats rotating around the y axis... :-) I wrote the 3D engine at RAND, which uses true matrix transformations to keep track of points in 3D space and while you could use that kind of math to do rotations, I don't think its what you want. The easiest way to do that kind of rotation is to use Modify->Transform->Flip Horizontal  (I think thats the menu command, if not I know I'm close!)

(well, you get the picture.  Kinda)
 
The only way I can do it currently is using a scaled motion tween, but it doesn't look the best.  Does this fall under the 3d category?
