You can convert a MIDI file to a .wav or .aiff, and then downsample
it to a lower sampling and bit rate, and/or compress using Flash compression.
That will save file size. _Much_ higher quality than recording the sound of
the MIDI file through a microphone and importing that soundfile, and should
save you some file size. Experiment with exporting at different audio
compression rates, and definitely choose mono.
Or, if you know the person who created the MIDI music, you can ask them
to write a smaller, loopable tune for you......
Quicktime will convert MIDI to soundfiles, as will Player Pro (found at:
http://www.quadmation.com/pphome.htm) and many other shareware
apps. I suggest a trip to download.com. This has been covered a couple
of times on the list in the past few days, so a search through your email
archives might help, too.
Hope this helps.
