1> A touch screen is a ppointing device just like a mouse.
There is no interface (not visible to the developer or user anyways)
Just like a mouse is plugged in and installed by the operating system ...so is a
touch screen.

2> a touch scren will come with its own software, its own drivers ..run the
installation program and viola
t5hink of the touch screen as one of thise track pads on a laptop ..it just
replaces the mouse ...no special consideration for it required when using that
touchpad with any programs or flash movie

3>not difficult at all as you have to do nothing id you installed the
touchscreen correctly
think of a toucg screen as a screen with a built in mouse
Instead of using a ball that rolls on wheels it uses a finger that rolls on a
touchable grid (like the touchpads on laptops).

PS ...i think you misunderstood the concept that a tpuch screen is just another
mouse.
you plug it in, install the driver and its just like having another mouse on the
screen ...juts like you dont have to program the mpouse in flash or use any
external software to run it with a flash movie you dont need it with a touch
screen ...a touc screen is just another type of mouse ;like a trackball, a
touchpad on a laptop or one of those ibm thinkpad mouse joystick thingys...you
dont need to consider it in running your flash movie ..its controlled by the
operating system like any other pointing device :o)

I hope that clears it up :o)

Subject: FLASH: RE: Flash with Touch Screen

Thanks to Michael & James who agree that Flash will accept touch-screen
inputs as it would a mouse click. A couple more questions for anyone who has
developed a touch screen application ...

1. What interface translates the person's touch on the screen to the
equivalent of a mouse-click in Flash?

2. If this interface is a software program, do you know of any
examples/recommendations of software to use?

3. How difficult/time-consuming is this aspect (incorporating the
touch-screen aspect after the Flash movie is completed)?

Thanks!

As far as I know ....all the touch screen does is replace the mouse ...it
becomes the pointing device ..so theoretically a flash movie would work fine
with a touch screen (as long as you dont want to drag and rightclick and
stuf) - i think ....the flash movie wont know the difference ...will just
think its the mouse that clicked.
