ok ....in theory ...and its like what i did when tinkering with this idea ...if
you want the navigational item to be superimposed on your movie you need to load
it in your main movie with "load movie" action
then ..the button actions of that navigational item must "talk" to the timeline
of the original movie by using "tell target" - the button actions will work the
same, but just "tell" another movieclip (the main one) to do the action ...not
the navigational movies timeline

remember ....the movie that you are loading from the main movie needs to be the
same size as the main movie

I actually did manage to get this right .....and will have a demo up soon .
(when i can figure out why my nav movie aint loaded on the web - but works fine
on my HD )
I uploaded to unix which is case sensitive so i just have to check my file names
again .....

prolly will have a working example available tomorrow.... will zip the 3 files
(html and x2 FLA's) for download.

Will this help you ?

ps ...i didnt do any nested buttons ....not sure i know what u are talking about
there :o)

Hi,

As Michael Bain was also asking, how do you get the nice 'pull-down menu'
effect on this site www.dennisinter.com ?

I have created what is the basic nested structure of a button that might
replicate this, you can download it (less than 100K) on
http://www.djh-graphics.com/interiors/slidingframe2.fla

I am running into difficulties - 1) I can't get it to work in its own right,
and
2) I wouldn't know how to make this available on multiple scenes or movies -
throughout a website just as a normal HTML frame menu would be. I want it to
be 'superimposed' on the top of all my movies if you see what I mean.
Actually, I only tend to use separate .swf's and divide these into scenes.
A lot of people say to avoid scenes. What is the alternative?

So, much appreciated if some of you can help me a bit, and solve the menu
thing and send it back to me!

many thanks flashers,
