Title: RE: FLASH: Book: Flash 3 Web Animation F/X & Design

This book to me is kind of miss labeled it says Intermediate to Advanced, but it's really for beginners to Intermediate. I mean I didn't find anything to advanced in the book. I would say for a beginner this book would be that bad but if you are looking for more complex I would wait for the infamous Mr. Croteau's book. He's usually pretty much on the target with his examples.

Not recommended, at least by me.

The next book, for F4, has our beloved mentor John Croteau as a co-author,
and I believe it will be the best book money could ever buy.

Hit amazon and see when it's available.  It's worth the wait.
