FLASH: flash 4 keeps crashing

Hi all,


I've got a habitual bug in flash v 4.0


my system:


mac os 8.6 (british), g3 350, 256Mb, ati driver update 1.4.8, open gl 1.0


application info:


flash v4.0, 32Mb RAM assigned.


I've checked the technotes on macr and no joy. the only solutions 

that they offer are installing open gl and updating the ati driver. 

neither of these worked :( and neither of the suggestions are 

specific to my problem.


The problem I have is that when I attempt to move a symbol to a 

different folder flash crashes. I can force quit flash but when I 

reboot flash the problem remains. The only solution is to restart the 

machine... ...time consuming to say the least. What's really annoying 

is that I can't test for it quickly with conflict catcher because any 

restart seems to fix it.


I'm assuming that because of the symptons and the fact that it fixes 

on machine reboot that this is a memory problem - a leak? a mismap?


has anyone else experienced these symptons? workarounds?
