If you're doing a lot of drawing you'll need a dedicated drawing program -
Freehand, Illustrator, CorelDraw etc. If I'm doing anything more complex
than a simple shape I'll create it first in CorelDraw and just copy and
paste it into Flash. Sometimes its easier to draw with pen and paper and
scan it in.

Flash is great for animating objects but not very useful for creating them.
