FLASH: flash script

Can anyone help me with this

On my submit button on my flash form 

I need this to work



On (Press)

      Set Variable: "savingsbalance" = Principal *  (1 + ( ( Rate ) / (

Compound Period ) ) ) ^ ( ( Term * Compound Period) )

End On


but Flash does not like this ^ sign does any one know of a replacement
