Subject: | FLASH: See if this makes sense... |

The other day I posted a question about a little flash piece freezing some
people's browsers. Several of you checked it out and said all was fine
(www.cris.com/~rrcominc/dg.swf). It was fine for me as well. Today, however.
I just installed a newer version of netscape (4.61) and now that little piece
won't play for me either. My old browser had the 4.0 plug-in but this new
version apparently did not. I installed the 4.0 plug-in and all works again.
So...
it would seem that those having problems don't have the 4.0 plugin. Yes? No?
When I publish this piece for Flash 3.0, it's unsuccessful and the error is
concerning an 'If' action (I'm trying to use the if framesloaded action). So
again, I'm assuming that's not a viable Flash 3.0 action command.
Am I correct, here?
And, assuming all of these little deductions are correct, here's a broader
more important question(s).
- How do you utilize pre-loader movies that check for if framesloaded and still
be 3.0 compliant?
- When authoring in 4.0, what primary issues do you keep in mind to remain 3.0
compliant?
- What are the" automatic" things to avoid in order to be 3.0 compliant?
Thanks for your help and insights.
Rick K.
