Subject: | FLASH: MAJOR Flash bug.. or maybe it's just me (or my computer, orsomething...) |

case 1:
3 months ago, my portfolio, built in Director with Flash components (this
was before Flash 4, so I need the scripting, but wanted it to migrate
easily to the web). The menu was Flash based, and passed navigational
instructions to Director. Worked fine, except when I launch a separate
Director app, at which point, upon returning from the 2nd app, the flash
movie blows through all its stop actions, making for a rather frenetic menu
(it was set up on the main timeline with different labels for different
parts of the menu)
case 2:
now, working on a Flash 4 piece with similar navigation, involving passing
javascript command to and from (mostly from) another frame. Same thing
happens, seemingly at random - after a few clicks on the nav frame, the
flash movie starts to blow through all of the stop actions.
I am going to try moving the menus to a movie clip and keeping a single
frame on the main timeline, but has anyone else run into anything like
this? Is there a workaround, or is this a standing issue with Flash? Can I
expect it to work as poorly as a movie clip? Any help appreciated...
(Please fix this Macromedia!)
Thanks,
MT
