Just a few random musings - are you really really sure you want to have
background music on your news station site? What exactly do you mean by
background music? Is it 'music to browse the news by'? If that's the case
then you should know that most people are not too keen on unsolicited
background music. People who want to hear music will already have their
favorite CD or radio station playing in the background.
And even if they like the music once you have ask yourself if it will stand
up on repeat visits. So even if you decide to use bg music you might want to
provide a kill switch if its longer than 15-20 secs.
Its a different thing when you're talking about music that's tightly
integrated with an animation. But a 25 MB wav (or 3-4 mb mp3) file still
seems like overkill.
