Hi Rob and all of the others who responded.
The answers have been helpful.
The case that has come up points out some interesting details in
particular. In short, a scientific society wanted to add the science
site that I did to their on-line library. I and the client assumed
they were simply going to provide a link to it. Unknown to me, a few
weeks ago they asked the client for the files. He sent them the
swf's. Now they are complaining that the files are write protected so
they can't edit in their title and names. They asked him for the
unprotected files. I stepped in and kindly told them they could not
have the unprotected files, and that if they needed the files adapted
I will consider it. This is the second time that I have run into
people who think they can just take another's work and use it any way
they want.
The web has created a very interesting field of who owns what. Would
it be proper to add a visual "all rights reserved" or copyright on all
Flash movies?

>A creation in Flash would be governed the same as any other creative
work, whether it's programming or 'art.' The copyright to a work
occurs automatically at the moment of creation, and it belongs to the
creator. The rights are yours unless you specifically and explicitly
agree otherwise.
