You need to make a symbol first  - text or a shape or

whatever you want to animate.

1) Choose new symbol, and graphic as behaviour. Now create

the text or shape that you want to animate.

2) Then create another symbol, this time choose behaviour as

movie clip. Create animation here using the above symbol.

3) Now create another symbol, choosing button as the

behaviour. Put your animation in the the up, over, down and

hit stages. If you are animating text then for the hit state

create a shape of circle or rectangle that fits your text &

fill it with the background color of movie, as it would be

otherwise diffucult to hit a moving text exactly on the

letters.

In case you did not mean to make an animation into a button

but just wanted to animate one of the state of a button then

do the following for the third step.

Put the animation (movie clip) that you created in step 2 in

the button state that you wish to animate like say you want

the button to animate in rollover state, then you would put

the movieclip symbol in that state.

4) Now choose edit movie & put your button in the movie

timeline wherever you want it.


That's it! You are done.
