Subject: FLASH: Problems with tutorials

Hi all- first time on the list. I'm having a problem working with all .fla
file formats downloaded from tutorial sites (c. moock, flashzone etc.) I am
on a G3 Mac-333 with OS 8.5.1, I have Stuffit Deluxe 5.1 to unzip these
.fla's. They unzip fine- except they unzip as "simpletext" files, which are
unusable by Flash 4. I'm using AOL 4.0,Netscape 4.0 and I.E 4.5- and I've
also tried another IP server, with these 3 browsers - no luck. I'm totally
baffled - I tried to use "helpers" in AOL to set up a mime alternative,
pointing AOL directly to SDeluxe 5 for unzippping files with .zip extensions
- nadda...??? I'm interested to see if any other Mac users are sucessful at
getting ANY of the .zip tute's from Flashzone or C. Moock's site to work in
Flash4.
One more thing - AOL 4 and IE 4.5 DO NOT work with flash content sites
(Mac 8.5.1, G3) Netscape 4.0 never has a problem. The other 2 seem to lose
their flash, aftershock plug-ins every time you shut down the programs????
The next time you launch IE, or AOL - go to a flashed site - broken icon
---"you need plug-in ". I have loaded the plug-ins into both programs every
which possible way - it may work that session - but next time it has lost the
plug-ins.
