FLASH: Event Sound vs. Stream Sound

i have noticed that when i use the stream setting for sound, i get

distortion and clips that aren't present when i use the event setting.

however, the event setting won't let me sync up with streaming frames...has

anyone ever noticed this before? how do i get around it?
