Hi gang,

I teach this stuff up here in Toronto through Humber College's School of Media
Studies. Actually, I run the Multimedia area but that is another story.

We use:

Pshop 5.5
Fireworks 3
Dreamweaver 3
Flash 4
After Effects 4.1
QuickTime 4 Pro. (This allows you to make a some cool video controls in Flash.
Milburn and croteau's book explains this one quite neatly)
Freehand 9
Illustrator 8. Saw the demo of Illustrator 9 at Toronto's New Media Show. Very
interesting.
Director 8
3D Studio Max
Maya
and a bunch of other stuff.

The three must haves are QuickTime Pro, Dreamweaver and Fireworks.
