FLASH: unable to update variable in frame during runtime.

Hi all,


We have created an application where we are providing an editable text field to the user, if user types in the correct word the playback head should move further. But it seems that it is not possible in flash to update the variables during runtime with out any button event.

Another very important thing is in the same application if the user types the wrong word text field doesn't accept the alphabet how do we detect keyboard key when text is getting typed in the text field.

It would be great if we could get some help on these issues.
