Subject: FLASH: OT: a math question

hi

i've got a mouse movement over a certain distance,
something like a slider, for example from 0 - 100

now i'm lookin for a formula to translate this linear values
into a nonlinear range of values,
where i can define a threshold (e.i 15 pix )
and a maximum value ( e.i. 1000 ),
so an input value < then my threshold value
gives a result < 1 ( or 0 ),
an input = mythreshold results in mythreshold
and an input of for example 100 results in my maxvalue ( e.i. 1000 )

is there a common formula for this ?

did you understand what i'm talking about ?
(dit I understand waht i'm talking about ??)

thanks

__gabriel
