Use a Tell Target action on the button which controls a separate MC, telling
it to go to frame 2 at which the sound starts. At frame 1, set a variable
to 1. At frame 2, set the variable to 0. Some time later in the MC
timeline, long enough for your sound to finish, set the variable to 1. Use
an If statement in the button which ties it to the variable...If variable =
1, Tell Target /MC, goto 2.

Subject: FLASH: Sound over Sound over Sound over Sound...
Nice, quiet Friday.....
I've been using voice to explain things on mouseOvers for buttons.
If I mouseOver a button 3 or more times quickly, it becomes a chorus of a
verbal train wreck.
So, how do I make each voice play all the way thru, without being
interrupted even if I were to mouseOver it a few times quickly ?
