FLASH: Flash 3 Detection/ No Embed????

I tried to use the Flash 3 publish settings with detection and alternate 

jpg for non Flash viewers, but when I tried to view it with IE 5 Mac, it 

failed to detect Flash presence. I noticed that it produced code with an 

OBJECT tag, but no Embed tag. I tried then to modify the settings in 

Dreamweaver, but adding the embed tag seemed to remove the detection 

javascript. 


I was trying to keep this simple, but it appears not to be working. 


Any suggestions on autodetection?  I don't care if Mac IE 4.5 gets a Jpeg 

instead of a flash, but I was hoping that IE 5 viewers on WIN and MAC 

would see the Flash...
