.gif export sizes

Just did another test on .gif export from the 30day trial (final)

version of Flash 3.


Here are the results:


FLASH 2 --  9,514 bytes

FLASH 3 -- 12,185 bytes



Anyone doing professional online advertising (web banners) knows that

that difference is huge. Almost 3K is getting close to a full third of

the common banner size limit of 10K. So, if you're using Flash at all

to produce animated gifs, remember to stick with Flash 2 if size is an

issue.  (Obviously there are post-production optimization techniques,

but no-one likes to take a 3K hit just because you use a different

version of a piece of software.)
