I made one small mistake here, folks.. the mime type line should be

application/x-shockwave-flash swf

no period before swf.

Like John mentioned, this can also be done in your srm.conf file
by setting up a new Addtype directive. I find its easier to just keep
everything in the mime.types file, though.
