Subject: RE: File size (buttons, labels & frame actions)

Hi Andrew..

Are any of your buttons/labels appearing in any consecutive
frames (with same button actions properties??) Perhaps you
can try putting these buttons/labels or any other object into a
separate layer - anything which does not require keyframes..
As long as frames following a keyframe are not keyframes
(or tweened) the frame's addition to the file size (for the
particular layer) will only be a few bytes.

Try to use key frames as little as possible. Add only the
essential, required elements into keyframes and move all
non-changing elements into another layer with a single key
frame.

Can you tell me if buttons, labels & frame actions ad significantly to file
size.

I have a flash file which has 250 odd key frames (needed!), each one with
+/- 8 buttons (all the same button from the library)
each button also has a tell target/ go to action in each. other than that I
have about 5 other *small* symbols...

The .swf file is 103K and the report generated says that each frame is 465
bytes (ow!?!), what gives?
