Exactly. I was trying to explore the reason why a bit more, but the
point ends up being the same. Communication between movies depends on
it.

But I'm not sure that it's poor structuring not to fill up all layers
with empty frames: I actually like to kill off a layer if it's no
longer active.
Perhaps, though, with the new "Tell Target" feature, "good structuring"
will include filling all layers with empty frames so they all end at
the same frame.

Yup. I didn't mean to sound like I was contradicting it--Jim's post was
good and will work. I was just adding that people may run into a
possible snag when using Tell Target, especially between scenes...
