I, for one, would be interested to see such a dir. Since I started using
flash, I've been watching as it moves onward to become more than just an
animation tool... and as the features keep piling in, the possibilities for
interactivity keep rising. However, before flash, director was my
interactivity/animation tool of choice (if not a 3d type deal), and I
developed a real taste for the things that could be controlled using lingo.
I've known of the FAX for a long time, but don't know how much it costs or
how easy it is to learn - but I have an interest in what it can do...
anything nifty you've got I'd be happy to go see. I go and look at most of
the stuff posted to the list, anyways.

I've always been baffled by the meaning of 'direct to stage'... what does
it mean, and what advantages does it offer when used with flash files? I
was under the impression that it only controlled an aspect of digital
video...

John! So it was you who responded to that email... thanks, man. It's not
that I didn't believe you... I just needed to get the opinion of more than
one individual. I was also having a hard time believing that so many
people could put up flash movies without configuring the server for it...

I'm also going to mention another thing... I get the digest version of the
list, so communications aren't always as real time as they could be... I do
know, however, that ICQ has been gaining a lot of popularity, and I imagine
that if other flashers have got icq like me, that we may all stand to learn
a bit faster by exchanging icq numbers so we can fire off small little
stupid questions at each other that may not be worth the list's time. For
any who don't know, ICQ is a very handy little messaging tool that allows
users to send smallish messages to each other instantly. It's like really
fast email...

anyways, my ICQ # is 9179101. I go by the name of Brodu.

Which brings me to my next topic: my name. As I have noticed the
existence of at least one other Dave on this list, I will begin signing my
posts "Brodu" just to keep things simple. Any ICQers out there?

Brodu
the stupid
