Hi Lane, good post,

<snip>(look it up)

Stand by Lane, it gets worse. In general, clients expect to own *anything*
you do for them. When regularly employed at an engineering firm, some of
them go so far as to claim rights to *anything you do*, and I'm including
unrelated stuff, even on your own time, and produced on your own hardware,
24hours/7days. I'm not joking. This is common now. It's a very good bet
that MM legally and literally *owns* the entire Flash team, including Jon.

Obviously, programmers like me disagree with that concept. But since
*they* are paying the bills, it usually comes down to an ultimatum of
accept it or get out. I couldn't accept that, so I got out.

>but is it so wrong that we want our name on the work that we did?

No it isn't. Just do it in your portfolio when marketing to new clients.
That's what you really want anyway. They can't touch you for that. Keep
good records to prove you did the work.
