Hi Greg,
In Flash 2 you can only fade (Tween) to a solid color using the
brightness or the tint Effect. In Flash 3, we have an Alpha fade which
can fade from completely opaque to completely transparent. Using the
Alpha effect allows complete fades when the background is not a solid
color.
