Apple Acquires Technology From Macromedia
07:29 p.m May 04, 1998 Eastern
CUPERTINO, Calif., May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Apple Computer, Inc. (Nasdaq:
AAPL) today stated that it has acquired technology from Macromedia, Inc.
(Nasdaq: MACR) to enhance future versions of its widely used QuickTime
software. The move is part of Apple's efforts to make QuickTime the
industry standard for digital video authoring and playback on personal
computers and over the Internet.
This PR wasn't very detailed. Anyone know what technology they're talking
about?
Something to make QT3 stream decently perhaps?
BTW, someone from Real told me they have some major announcements of their
own coming up soon. There could be a serious battle brewing between Real &
QT3.
