Hi Kurt, thanks for writing,

Agreed. Consider it done soon as I can get to it.

These sites are fun to do, and quite frankly, Flash games absolutely
demolish the competition (Java and download) games in audience
popularity.

But I should say this...
I get questions from Flash developers wanting to do projects like
these for very good reasons, not the least of which is the economics
involved. I think that's great, the more the merrier, and I would
encourage more developers to join us this industry. But I would give
them a friendly warning that when it comes to developing games that
play for money, to be very, very careful in what you put out there on
the web, because the legalities are quite stringent and challenging.
You are far better off hooking up with a publisher that knows how to
walk the legal walk. Otherwise, you may end up with the sheriff
knocking on your door with a warrant to seize your equipment and shut
you down. Really. The Feds are quite serious about it. It's
happened. Not to us, but it has to people who didn't know the ins
and outs. So my best advice is don't attempt to do what we do unless
you have the legal counsel with the state by state knowledge to keep
you from crossing any legal lines, and the ability to back you up if
the Gov comes after you; which they *will* do if you make any
mistakes in design or method and they view your game as a Class 3
game. If that happens, you are toast! Remember, there are many
games that you CAN NOT do legally - yet.

The good news is that the laws are slowly changing, and we expect the
business to explode in 2001. The Internet Gaming Act just recently
failed by only a small margin, and it will be coming up again in
congress. If/when it passes, we'll be ready with a whole suite of
serious Flash games. :) Hope to see you there!

ATB,

/wayne
