Learning to learn is important. It's *the* essential skill.
Each post, each paragraph, consumes the attention of those who read it.
Posting to a thousand people is very much more expensive than looking in
the index. It's also personally faster to look in the index, search the
technotes, and try to pull the desired info, before pushing a request onto
others.
It's difficult to measure the people who no longer post or read here,
because the membership costs (as volume) have increased. Their
contributions are sorely missed.
(OT posts still require evaluation, and people on digest have no choice in
the matter.)
