Wayne,

This list is made up of many of the TOP Flash experts from all over the
world...as well as countless 'newbies' who must be hugely intimidated by:

-the advanced level of many people here
-the challenge of learning new software
-the confusion of learning ActionScript, FS commands, &c.
-blah blah blah

A post like yours can easily turn people away from the list, or at least keep
them lurking, afraid of asking what they think is a stupid question for fear of
somebody laughing at them publicly. Consider the newbies, because we were all
newbies at some point and some of those newbies have become masters of a craft
and choose to share their knowledge here.

Please consider this when you type your posts. If a question strikes you as
hilariously simple, you can laugh, but it's not necessary to post that. If it's
so simple to you, let somebody else answer it -- it's a great confidence boost
for newbies to be able to contribute back to the list.

I've also noticed (and this is not a personal attack) that some posts are made
seemingly without thought -- loose use of incorrect terminology that an expert
MIGHT be able to decipher can horribly confuse most people. A post may be
directed toward more advanced Flashers, but everybody sees it, and if it's
posted with some thought it ought to be able to help a wider audience.

Regarding OT (Off Topic) posts, as long as they're flagged as OT they can be
easily filtered out or ignored. Personally I don't mind them because they're
generally issues of interest to this community.

-Randy
