I would do it by instance name.. if your incrementing just set a value to
duplicating the movie clip with a variable instance.

for example set a loop of your choice then iterate through each name by
concatenation.
Psudeo code
For i =1
if i <> 5
then set variable x=i
Duplicate Movie Clip ("MC" , "MC" & x, 5)
end if
