Subject: | FLASH: Flash Artist Magazine ideas |

I love the idea of a Flash magazine. I believe that the most successful model would have to either exist online or have a very strong online presence. This is, after all, an interactive Web-based media we're talking about.
As far as the process, how about starting simple? Make the magazine low budget, maybe available in PDF form, perhaps on a subscription basis. It could be project-based, with some news/animation tips/etc. added in. A lot of the content could probably be pretty easily gathered if people on this list would take periodic screen shots of their projects underway, and added in some simple explanations about the project (guidelines, audience, challenges, solutions). Contributors could be attracted with a by-line, and even a moderate compensation based on subscription/ad revenue and well page views. Maybe over time evolve to something along the lines of 3D Artist--solid content, specific audience, topical advertising, 40 pages to look forward to every month.
I'd buy into something like that, I really would, as a subscriber, reader, contributor. Of course, what any project involving so many needs is a Managing Editor type who keep all the elements tugging in the same direction. Maybe each issue could be handed off to a different couple of designers to keep the style fresh...
Anyway, these are just some ideas from an xacto-era designer who's overjoyed by Flash and always looking for fun new projects. This sounds like it could be a valuable resource in a raging new market...
