I think there is an easier way then this Randy, in each of the movies
(buttons in the dropdown menu and the main button that opens the drop down.)
but a telltarget to a movie clip (i call mine "closer") which has about 10
frams and then actionscript to close the menu... in the Mouse Even over of
the buttons, have them tell "closer" to goto and stop 1, on mouse even
off/out tell target ("closer") play...
the idea is every time someone leaves a button, it starts the closing
process, however if they are just moving from one button to another then the
10 frames buffers that, and then the next button tells the closer to stop...
works out really smoothly too :o)
i too hate the total window button thing, this was my solution... hope it
helps.

Jette,
You could try a workaround by locking an invisible MC to your pointer
and
instead of using a big button, track the MC/mouse position and use tell
targets
to achieve the same effect. Something like, if x-position is greater
than or
less than certain values and y-position is greater than or less than
certain
values (the values would be the coords of the corners of the big button
you've
eliminated), tell target 'popup menu' go to and play label 'close'.
The big button solution is much easier and doesn't bother most people
since a
popup menu is usually made up of all buttons anyway so the hand would
show up
regardless.

Randy
