What exactly is this for? Couldn't you just use one size text box that is
big enough to cover the largest amount of text you'll be diaplying? What is
the reason for needing different sizes? To my knowledge there is no way to
change the size of these dynamically. I had something like I had done
involving a scroll bar that was displaying from a .txt file and I only
wanted it to scroll the appropriate amount for the text and not for the size
of the text file. The best solution I came up with was to detect the Length
of the text(you have to convert any hard returns to chr(13)(I think) to get
an accurate reading and then I chose out of several different "preset" text
boxes to match as close as I could. You could get as specific as you wanted
with it but I put the text boxes in a movie clip....each frame had a dirrent
size text box. Don't know if that helps.

Subject: FLASH: dynamic text boxes
Hello,
Here's the problem, it's probably something simple but here it goes
anyway. I've got a variable, loading in to a text box from an external
file. What I need to do is make the text box size dynamic to how much text
is coming from the external file, the information in the external file will
be changing every few hours or so. Anybody have any ideas, I've spent a few
hours on it already and exhausted everything I could think to do.
Thanks for the help
Randy
