You could certainly be comfy at 50k a year if you had a steady check coming

in every two weeks . . . i did it for less just a few years ago. I was in sf

for 15 years.


You could (for sure) creatively find a great living situation for 1/4 of

that 50k and if you are just starting out, sf is awesome, and i wouldn't

balk at that(50k) for a steady paycheck . . . just staring out . . . heck

no! You definately don't need a car there. So you won't have to worry about

that, unless you want 10 parking tickets a week . . . :( . . . I still kept

my car though.


i thouroughly miss San Francisco . . . best place i ever lived!

Is 65K/yr more reasonable?  The job is in Santa Clara but I would be living

in SF as close to Golden Gate park as I could get.
