FLASH: animation or movie

I was reading on this list how you can define how many times you want an

animated symbol to loop.  This brought up a question.  What is the

difference with a movie clip and an animated symbol?  Is one smaller in size

or something?  Why use one over the other.  If there is a tutorial on this

just shoot me there.  Later bros
