Subject: FLASH: _root vs. _parent (basic question)
From: Matt

here's the deal: I've got a flash movie, with several mc's, all of which
works perfectly when played on its own. Everything plays when it should,
stops when it should, etc. But when I load that SWF into another SWF via
the loadMovie function, all of a sudden the actionscripts stop working
in the "nested" movie, although they do work in the the nestee. When you
load one swf into another swf, does the toplevel swf then become _root,
effectively crippling all of the _root paths in the the loaded Movie? Do
I need to change all the paths to _parent, or name them specifically to
function within the context of being loaded into another movie, even
though they work fine on their own?
