I experienced the same a few months ago, and found it to be a conflict with

one of my other apps running. Can't remember which one, though, but I think

it was SoundJam MP3 player or AudioOn, or possibly QuickTime Player 4

because I was listening to some MP3 music and sounds at the time.


One thing is for sure, it is not exclusive to the G4 & OS 9 like a few other

things are.


I'm running with a Powerbook G3 & a G3 B&W with OS 8.6 (UK)
