Good kiosk software will give you this option as well, no need for Director
or Powerpoint.

Hi,
I made one touch screen kiosk for a client and discovered a little trick
with creating an invisible cursor/pointer. Just embed your Flash movie in a
Powerpoint projector... In powerpoint you have the option of making your
cursor invisible.... very quick and easy... saves you from having to go into
Director....
