Subject: | FLASH: extra linefeed in flash display |

Hi all. Someone asked on the Flashmacromedia list about why Flash
displays 2 returns for every return in a text file being read in. I
believe it's because Flash puts out a newline for both 0d (carriage
return) and 0a (linefeed), when it should really only put out one for
the combination. Is there any way to get just one return in flash per
return in the text file? I don't know of any parsing/replace/insert
kinds of string manipulation functions in flash (other than substring),
so can't think of a way.
(On an unrelated note, thank you Jason, Kevin and David for answers
about getURL in flash 3).
Regards,
Helen
