Hi Damien-
Flash animation requires use of your system's processor. A 100mhz machine is
at the very low end of the spectrum for handling even the simplest
animation. Some things that are most processor intensive include alpha fades
and animated complex vectors and BMPs (that contain lot's of curves)
The minimum system requirement for authoring (at MM site) is a 133mhz
processor.
Although Flash can play on any machine that has the abilty to install the
player, performance is directly related to processor speed.
I have a 200mhz, a 233mhz, a 450mhz, and an 850mhz. I notice huge
differences even between my 200 and 233. Haven't found much that the 850
won't render properly . . .
Also . . . if the system is doing simultaneous tasks when viewing a Flash
animation, such as other browsers open with animated .gif banners contained
within or downloading something else etc. you will notice a perfomance lag
in the player.
Hope that helps clear things up.
