FLASH: Inspector not setting position right

I ran across a problem that I can't figure out.  I have been setting

the x and y position of a lot of movie clips using the inspector

window.  I have them locked to the center.  I type in the positions,

and when I press apply a different set of numbers appear and it moves

the movie clip to this new (incorrect position).  It picks the same

number each time which is way off from what I want.  If I move the

clip manually with the arrow keys they stay where I want them.  Has

anyone seen this?  It was working fine up until yesterday afternoon.
