Hi Jane.  I'm not sure how useful this will be, but I've just posted an

example of when actionscript can be used, and an attempted start at an

actionscript reference at

http://i-technica.com/whitestuff/actionscriptref.html.  


It's really a reference though, not a tutorial, because I find that the

best way to learn a programming language is by a combination of looking

at working examples (many at flashkit.com, eg) and learning the correct

syntax (which is what I'm trying to do with the reference).  Downloading

the example fla and looking at the code in the actions layer and for

each of the buttons might get you started in the right direction

anyway...
