Aaron, I just tried creating an oval with a CMYK gradient in
Illustrator 8 and then converted it to RGB with the option dropdown
arrow on the Color palette--it worked fine, no error message. Maybe
Illustrator 7 is different, but it seems odd that it wouldn't work.
