Subject: FLASH: Flash 4 with Image... Links to upgrades? Detection/IE 4.5

Here's my problem: Because the .swf 's are going to reside on a high
capacity server, they will be linked as an absolute link embedded in the
Flash .html page.

As was recently pointed out {thanks!} Mac IE 4.x has a bug in that the
.swf GET URL will look for the URL relative to the .swf rather than
relative to the html page in which it is embedded.

To fix this issue, I am forced to make Mac users upgrade to IE 5 or use
Netscape.

However when I used the Flash 4 with Image it did detect I didn't have
Flash 4 on my Netscape [3 only]. It created a great jpeg with image map
links on the buttons. But it didn't create a link to GET FLASH 4 nor
did it auto take me to get it.

I am wondering on a movie I have set to 100%, is there any way to leave
alternate text and links if the Flash 4 is not present [or is undetected
in IE 4.5]? And NOT have text links if the browser is Flash 4 able? [I
wanted to use the old detection scheme to block IE 4.5 even though they
may have Flash 4 because IE 4.5 won't work on the site.]

I want to create a link and instructions for downloading IE 5 Mac. and/or
downloading the Flash 4 plugin.

I've used the silent detection schemes before of a mini- flash with a
flash 4 only action script. But that won't work if the client has Mac IE
4.5. They'll get through and get lost.

Thanks

Jeff
