FLASH: Passing Variable between Scenes?

As a follow up on my questions on CGI variables.


Assuming I iron out the process of creating Variables that are passed to 

the EMBED tag with a CGI script [mySWF.swf?memberID=XYZ ]


Once the variable is loaded into Flash...  Can this variable be passed 

from scene to scene. I.e., once it is loaded, does it stay resident 

within the .swf?


And/or can I load the variable from the Embed tag from a later scene if 

it cannot pass from scene to scene?
