Last I heard they were considering Shout3d's implementation of the java3d
api for a w3 standard, its not as if a commercial implementation is taboo at
the w3c so why not swf instead of SVG? It seems like adopting a widely used
commercial standard would make more sense than putting out yet another
plug-in or new browser requiring 'standard' that will take years to be
widely enough supported for developers to rely on (after all, swf is still
the most reliable way to deliver PNG and how long ago did PNG become a
'standard';-)..
