Hello Lee -

Absolutely!

It's important to understand that, concerning databases and middleware, Flash does not behave much different than an HTML-based form when sending data. Any forms tutorial that can take data from the user and insert it into a database should help you build one that will do the same thing from a Flash movie.

Check out some of the ASP help sites for info on how to build a Flash 4 form with ASP. There's a great sample at:

http://www.asptoday.com/articles/19991001.htm
--> "Building a Form with ASP and Macromedia Flash 4"

Additionally, there are two Flash TechNotes that deal with Flash and forms:

How to create and submit a form in Flash 4
http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/f4_form.htm

Using Flash with a CGI form mailer
http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/flash_cgi.htm

Granted, both of those refer to CGI and have specific uses, but the concept is very similar.

Self promotion: I use ASP and an Access database extensively on my own site:

http:/www.sendasketch.com

Test it out - be warned it's not all done yet. ;>)

If you have any specific questions regarding how to get data in and out of the database and into Flash, post it and I'll gladly answer what I can.

Matt
